We are learning about living things in Science. Last week we learned about the parts of a plant and animal cell. For a review, the students got to make an edible animal cell with a partner. Can you tell me what a plant cell has that an animal cell does not?
This year's fourth graders are touching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to learning about Nebraska for the year. This week we are reading about Prehistoric Nebraska and how our state was once under water. Today the students did a color, cut, and paste activity to study Nebraska's neighbors and where they are located (north, south, etc).
We had a lot of fun learning about each other today. We started out by filling out a sheet on our "favorites." Then we found friends who had similar favorites. We also started a fun art project. We traced our silhouettes and drew pictures of items/objects that represent us best. Then we started painting them. We hope to finish our art project before the Open House so the parents can see our artwork. The students also got to "play" with the SMARTboard. They day went by quickly!
